I Wanna Rock and Roll All Night, And Praise Jesus Everyday
For those who think that the concept of Guitar Hero is awesome, but that listening to those bands damns you to hell, or just want to rock out to some wholesome Christian rock, we have Guitar Praise, the PC game (and included guitar peripheral) that lets you rock out on fake guitar to dc talk, Caedmon's Call, and Petra (among others). Sure to be a hit at your local church this fall.

Having written about Dance Praise in Rapture Ready! this doesn't surprise me in the least. The revealing fact here is that the CCM industry chose to back this Guitar Hero/Rock Band rip off rather than make their songs available as downloadable content for the original games. This is the ghetto mentality of Christian pop culture -- catering to the fanatics who won't let their kids own Xboxes and Playstations rather than declaring themselves simply another aspect of the culture at large that is available to kids who already like rock and videogames.

My friend Tommy -- whose obligatory Korean American young teen devout Christian phase was tempered by early real rock band formation -- told me (perhaps apocryphally) that said band repurposed Judas Priest's "Breakin' the Law" as, what else, "Prasin' the Lord."
