Also, the whole democracy thing is probably better just on its own merits

I'm glad to see people moving towards an aesthetics based morality. Because democracy and the Taif Agreement are two entirely different fish altogether. The Lebanese electoral system is only a step or two above the South African one of the 80s. What these biddies hope to suggest is that a scrapping of the current constitution would open the country to a more representative government which they would dominate (for the purposes, no doubt, of enacting barbarously indemocratic policies). In this case one might say democracy is not on the side of freedom. So then what, Democraniks?

What I find slightly interesting is that a major news image service with which I am very familiar devotes 8 images to certified fox Segolene Royal's visit to Beirut against only 17 for this decidedly downmarket mass rally on the very next day.

Dude, are you expecting me to actually know anything about Lebanese politics?

I'll agree about Royal, though. That shot of her coming out of the car? She could teach Brit-Brit a thing or two.

Jesus Christ, you two. Are you going to make me search for the picture?

Here. Safe for work, unless you work at the Heritage Foundation.

She can change the direction of my country anytime.

Well yeah, because who doesn't love Sanford and Son?
