Kerry's October surprise?
It's terrible, but I immediately flashed to the Reagan hoopla and figured that if Clinton kicks it sometime around the first week of October, it might be enough to put the Democrats over the top.

Not so terrible: I thought the same thing. And then I wondered if it really *would* help, or hinder. And then I decided: Whatever it might do for Kerry, it probably would be a big assist to a newly-widowed Hillary in 08....

Bill isn't going to meet Saint Peter until he's got his legacy written just the way he likes it. Now, he'll have the story of looking death in the face and can become a great American Hero...
