Liberal outlets have naturally been skeptical about the new openness -- especially since many had been predicting the opposite for months -- but I think a better response is to laud the military openly and loudly, and make it as difficult as possible for it to back down.
Meanwhile, there's an interesting debate over at Romenesko about who's responsible for the lack of coverage of the ongoing war in Afghanistan. And it's worth mentioning that this whole affair has given us our first fun new vocabulary word of Gulf War II.
